Sites & Resources for VI Teachers
The Internet has made it possible for teachers all over the world to access resources useful for working with children with visual impairments. Some of our favorites are listed on this page.
Here are some valuable websites:
- Bookbuilder (create accessible digital books for students)
- Teaching Visually Impaired.com
- UDL (Universal Design for Learning - formerly CAST - Center for Applied Special Technology)
One of our former colleagues, Dr. Lynn Gautreaux, made a presentation called "Sports and Leisure Activities for the Blind" during the 2010 Michigan AER Conference. Lynn compiled a resource guide for teachers, parents and other professionals interested in learning more about recreation and leisure options for the visually impaired.
Lynn is happy to share his research with all who are interested. For a copy of his resource guide, click here.
